The GSU Gym is located at 16 Bancroft Ave.
The GSU gym can be booked for 1 hour/week by graduate students, either daily or monthly – because of the demand, only graduate students are allowed to use the space. The GSU gym is open from 10am – 11pm Monday to Friday and volleyballs, dodgeballs, and basketballs are available.
To book, call Ruth Perkins between 10am and 5pm at 416-946-8699. If you want to book the gym for the whole month, you must call the last Thursday of the month preceding, at 10am (for January bookings call the second week of December). Call on time; space goes quickly. Booking policy is below.
Beginners Meditation: Wednesdays 1-2pm.
Tai Chi: Wednesdays 2-3pm.

Pick-Up Volleyball: Wednesdays 8-11pm. (starts April 17, 2013 and runs until late September)
Zumba (free!): Thursdays 5-6pm.

Restricted to singles badminton with only 2 people in the gym (both must be UofT grad students, and provide Tcard upon request). Names/ID numbers verified at booking.

Are you an instructor for Yoga, Pilates, or any other low or non-impact athletic activity? We are looking for instructors wanting to gain some experience or who would just like to volunteer their time to teach a class during daytime hours at the GSU gym.
Gym Sports Bookings
a) Graduate students can book the gym weekdays for 1 hour per week. The gym will normally be booked only by phone starting at 10am on the last Thursday of the month, for the upcoming month. July and August will be booked the last week of June. January will be booked the 2nd week of December. If there are available spots on the Tuesday following gym booking day, they may book another hour. Only those members who have booked the gym are permitted to use the gym during their booking.
b) Only volleyball, basketball, badminton and fitness classes may be booked, as the gym is not safe for other sports.
c) Between 9am and 5pm weekdays, gym bookings are restricted to quiet activities like singles badminton. Members will be required to provide both players’ names and student numbers when making the booking. Student status will be verified at the time of the booking. Gym usage will be monitored. Students using the gym will be required to show their TCards upon request. Violation of this policy will result in the suspension of booking privileges from 9am to 5pm, for four months.
d) Between 5 to 11pm weekdays members wanting to book will provide the GSU office with a list of their players’ names and student numbers. Names should match those used by ROSI. There must be at least 4 players per booking, and at least 75% must be registered U of T graduate students. The booking will be confirmed after the player list is received. Violation of this policy will result in the suspension of booking privileges from 5 to 11pm for four months.
e) Street shoes and boots must be removed before entering the gym. The gym must be left clean after each booking. Violation of this policy will result in the suspension of booking privileges for four months.
