Conference and Academic Event Grants
(formerly known as Conference Grants)

The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union (UTGSU) offers a limited amount of funding annually in order to support conferences, workshops, or other academic events organized by graduate students at UofT. The purpose of this Grant is to foster collective or co-operative work amongst graduate students within or across disciplines.

UTGSU does not fund individuals or groups who wish to attend or present work at academic conferences here or abroad. Funding for graduate students to present at external conferences generally comes from the department. The procedures and amounts vary drastically from department to department. Ask your supervisor or graduate coordinator for details.

The application form for the 2013-2014 Conference and Academic Event Grant can be downloaded here: Conference and Academic Event Grant Application [PDF].

The maximum grant for any one academic event is $600.00.

Questions? Please contact the UTGSU Fieldworker at 416-946-8699 or fieldworker@utgsu.ca.

Deadline: There are two rounds of funding available.
First deadline: Wednesday December 4th at noon.
Second deadline: Wednesday March 12 at noon.

The 2013-2014 application form will be sent via Campus Mail to all small Course Unions in October and is also available here: Special Grant Application [PDF].
