Students with disabilities are entering post-secondary education, and are choosing to continue with graduate school, in increasing numbers. From 2003/04 – 2005/06 the GSU formed a Graduate Accessibility Committee to address the issues and barriers faced by graduate students with disabilities at the University of Toronto. Successes included work on the “Breaking Down Barriers” conferences; helping form the Access Centre at U of T; creating GSU’s Accessibility Policy; and working on the U of T Ontarians with Disabilities Act accessibility planning process.
