As part of your UTGSU Membership fee, you have access to different levy groups that provide a variety of different services. Please see each levy group below for specific instructions on how and when you can opt-out:
Graduate students can opt-out of Bikechain’s Fall Levy, which is $ 0.25 for part-time students and $0.50 for full-time students) from September 18-22, during the following hours:
- Monday, September 18 from 12pm-9pm
- Tuesday, September 19 from 10am-9pm
- Wednesday, September 20 from 10am-5pm
- Thursday, September 21 from 12pm-9pm
- Friday, September 22 from 10am-5pm
Levy refunds will be distributed at Bikechain, North Borden building, 563 Spadina Crescent. Students who experience barriers to visiting the shop can email email@example.com and we will be happy to make alternative arrangements with you.
Downtown Legal Services
Downtown Legal Services is the Faculty of Law’s community legal clinic. Law students, working under the close supervision of expert staff lawyers, provide free legal assistance in several areas of law including criminal law, landlord and tenant matters, refugee and immigration claims, family law, and academic appeals and offenses. We also provide notary services at no (or nominal) charge. To access our services, call our intake line at 416 978-6447. DLS receives $1.50/per term from each full-time GSU student as part of your incidental fees. This term fee is 100% refundable within 60 days of registration. To obtain a refund, please visit the clinic at 655 Spadina Ave. Refunds will also be available from 6-8 pm on the following dates: September 11, 19 and 27. Note: Students who opt out of the DLS fee will not be able to access our free legal services unless they meet the financial eligibility criteria established by our primary funder, Legal Aid Ontario.
Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG)
OPIRG-Toronto Fees Refund Period:
University of Toronto full-time and part-time graduate students who have paid the Ontario Public Interest Research Group – Toronto fees and wish to opt-out of OPIRG-Toronto are able to claim their fees refund with proof of enrollment for the 2017-2018 academic year.
Please bring your proof of enrollment to the OPIRG Office in the North Borden Building at 563 Spadina Crescent, Room 101 during the opt-out period:
Thursday, September 7 to Wednesday, September 27 inclusive.
Our office will be open Monday to Friday from 11AM to 7PM during the period.

Sexual Education Centre (SEC)
University of Toronto graduate students who wish to opt out of their levy agreement with the University of Toronto Sexual Education Centre (SEC) and receive a refund of their fees can stop by the SEC office at (21 Sussex Ave, Unit 612). Refunds for the fall term are $0.50 for full-time graduate students and $0.25 for part-time graduate students. Please bring your University of Toronto Student ID and proof of enrolment. Drop in times for those wishing to opt-out are:
Monday to Friday from 10am-6pm, starting Friday September 29 and ending Friday October 27.

Students for Barrier-Free Access (SBA)
