1. Health and Dental Insurance Opt Out Cheques
Health and Dental Insurance opt-out cheques will be mailed out starting Friday, March 16, 2018. Direct Deposit reimbursements will be made starting Thursday, March 15, 2018.  You should have received an application number after you opted-out. That is your confirmation that your opt-out was successful. If you do not receive a reimbursement by April 15, 2018, please send an email to health@utgsu.ca, and forward the email with the confirmation number and your student number and we will investigate your opt out.

2. Hiring: UTGSU General Council Chair
The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union is currently seeking a General Council Chairperson for the 2018-2019 academic year. Experience chairing governing bodies/board of directors, general meetings, experience as a Member of the UTGSU General Council, familiarity with Bourinot’s/Robert’s Rules of Order, and experience with anti-oppression practices are all assets. Preference will be given to Members of the UTGSU, but all experienced candidates are welcome to apply. Remuneration: $150/meeting; approximately 9 meetings per year, beginning in September. Auxiliary responsibilities may be required. Please submit a cover letter and resume to internal@utgsu.ca by Monday, April 16th at midnight. 3. Join the UTGSU Team as University Governance Commissioner
This position is open to any UTGSU Member. Duties include the liaising between the UTGSU and U of T administration, representing the UTGSU on various U of T committees, attending a weekly Executive meeting and a monthly General Council meeting, and writing weekly reports outlining your activities. The honorarium is $1244.34 per month. Elections for this position will be held during the next General Council meeting on Tuesday, 30 April, 6:10 pm, at Koffler House, Room 108 (569 Spadina Crescent). Your resume and 250-word statement are to be submitted to the Internal Commissioner (internal@utgsu.ca) by April 16th at midnight to be considered. 4. Queer Caucus Movie Screening
Join the UTGSU Queer Caucus to view and discuss the film “Tangerine” on Wednesday April 4th at 6:30pm! We will be gathering in the Department of East Asian Studies Lounge on the 14th Floor of Robarts (take the P4 elevator from the second floor of Robarts). Enjoy a great view of the city, a hilarious and insightful queer film, snacks aplenty, and the company of your fellow queer graduate students. 5. Grad Minds – Expanding the Elemental Magazine Editorial Team
Are you passionate about student mental health and wellbeing? Elemental Magazine is expanding their editorial team and recruiting a number of positions. Spearheaded by the UTGSU Grad Minds Committee, Elemental is aimed at promoting mental health awareness on campus and creating a strong community of support through an engaging, collaborative, and empowering communication platform. 6. SBA Hiring: Programming, Peer Support & Volunteer Coordinator
Students For Barrier Free Access (SBA) is hiring! The job opening requires a commitment of 25 hours per week. A successful candidate will be paid $20.00 per hour plus benefits and vacation, occasional evenings and weekends with a 3 month probation period. The position is unionized with Workers United. 8. Grad Talk: Getting the Most from your Supervisor
Wondering how you can get the most out of your supervisory relationship?  Want to know how you can use the Graduate Supervision Guidelines and learn some effective strategies for implementing positive change? On Tuesday, April 3rd 12:00 -2:00 pm, join fellow graduate students and G2G Peer Advisors from the Graduate Conflict Resolution Centre (CRC) for an interactive discussion about the challenges of working with a supervisor, how to use the guidelines to your advantage, and tips and tricks for getting the most out of your supervisory relationship.
