1. Health and Dental Insurance Opt-Out Cheques
Health and Dental Insurance opt-out cheques will be mailed out starting Friday, March 16, 2018. Direct Deposit reimbursements will be made starting Thursday, March 15, 2018.  You should have received an application number after you opted-out. That is your confirmation that your opt-out was successful. If you do not receive a reimbursement by April 15, 2018, please send an email to health@utgsu.ca, and forward the email with the confirmation number and your student number and we will investigate your opt out.

2. Hiring: UTGSU General Council Chair (EXTENDED Deadline)
The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union is currently seeking a General Council Chairperson for the 2018-2019 academic year. Experience chairing governing bodies/board of directors, general meetings, experience as a Member of the UTGSU General Council, familiarity with Bourinot’s/Robert’s Rules of Order, and experience with anti-oppression practices are all assets. Preference will be given to Members of the UTGSU, but all experienced candidates are welcome to apply. Remuneration: $150/meeting; approximately 9 meetings per year, beginning in September. Auxiliary responsibilities may be required. Please submit a cover letter and resume to internal@utgsu.ca by Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 at 5 pm. Please contact internal@utgsu.ca if you require more information, or have an accessibility request.

3. UTGSU Gym Summer Schedule
The UTGSU Gym summer schedule is now available on our website. Reservations will be taken on April 26, 2018, beginning at 10 AM by emailing gym@utgsu.ca or by calling 416-978-8464 for the Summer Schedule. Check out the UTGSU Gym Summer Schedule Page for more information.

4. Eco-Fair 2018
Want to get some free clothes, get your jeans fixed AND have your bike checked-up all at the same time? Then come join our Eco-Fair on Friday, April 20th from 4-6 pm in the David Naylor Student Commons (Medical Sciences Building). This is where you will find a mini Free Market, a mini Repair Café and a Bike Chain’s bike check-up all happening together for the first time! 5. Transit Sub-Committee Callout

6. The Race and Ethnicity Caucus: #RacializedOnCampus End of Year Social
#RacializedOnCampus is a year-end social gathering for racialized students and allies organized by the Race and Ethnicity Caucus of the UTGSU. Join us on April 19th at 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Main Activity Hall of the Multi-Faith Centre for conversations on healing from experiences of racial and other forms of discrimination, self-care, the physical and emotional labour involved in activism, and building solidarity amongst racialized students and allies on campus. 7. International Students’ Caucus Sponsored “Avengers: Infinity War” Movie/Drinks Night
The International Students’ Caucus (ISC) is inviting all international graduate students to join us on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 for a night of free drinks and a free Movie. We will meet at Jack Astor’s for drinks at 5:30 pm (133 John St, Toronto, ON M5V 2E4) and then we will head over to watch “Avengers: Infinity War” at Scotiabank Theater (259 Richmond St W).   RSVP ASAP for the ISC Movie/Drinks Night Here. Seats are very limited (first 20 international students) and you will be contacted to confirm your reservation. 

8. Grad Connections: Life as an International Student
On Monday, April 30th, 2018 at 12 pm to 1 pm, take a break and connect with other grad students at our new bi-weekly chat forum. This week’s theme will discuss Lie as an International Student. Share your experiences in an informal setting, talk about your challenges and life as a graduate student. An expert staff facilitator will be available to answer questions related to each week’s theme. This is a free event! Coffee and tea will be available Drop-In (no registration required). The event will be taking place at 21 Sussex Ave. room 321.

9. Making Your Own Babyfood: Introducing Solids
On Wednesday, April 25th, 2018 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm, learn to use simple equipment to make your own baby food, know how and when to introduce solid foods, adapt the food their family is eating to their baby’s needs, compare homemade and store-bought baby food, and learn how to handle and store food safely. Facilitator: Marcela Jaramillo, FoodShare. The event will be taking place at Koffler Student Services Centre, room 313. Registration required at http://uoft.me/3Qn.

10. Fostering Effective Relationships During Grad School
Do you have the tools to navigate your relationship commitments? As a graduate student you need to foster effective relationships with your peers, professors, supervisors, partner, family and friends in tandem. Good and healthy relationships require both a personal and professional investment in order to lead a productive lifestyle. Join us on Thursday, April 19 at the Grad Room from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for a session where we explore Brene Brown’s teachings on the importance of being vulnerable and have you assess your Emotional Quotient (EQ). Presented by the Leadership Team in Student and Campus Community Development. Pizza will be available.
