3. UTGSU Statement Condemning UofT’s University-Mandated Leave of Absence Policy
On June 27, 2018, the University of Toronto Governing Council passed the “University-Mandated Leave of Absence Policy” (UMLAP). The adopted policy gives University administration the power to put a student on an involuntary leave if a threshold criterion is met. Despite its adoption, the UTGSU Executive Committee remains in opposition to the policy and will continue to advocate for diverse, accessible, inclusive mental health resources, and we are committed to ensuring that the University takes seriously the concerns raised by our Members.
