Course Union Grants

Head Grants

Course Union Head Grants are distributed every year to UTGSU-recognized course unions. They are based on a percentage of the annual fees that each University of Toronto graduate student pays to the UTGSU. Head Grants are distributed in two instalments: one (1) in the Fall Semester and the other in the Winter Semester.

The 2018-2019 Course Union Head Grant Application Form can be downloaded here: 2018-2019 Head Grant Application Form (PDF). The application form is a fillable PDF form. After completing the form, please email to the UTGSU’s Membership and Advocacy Coordinator (Gail) at membership@utgsu.ca. A paper copy can also be submitted at the UTGSU Office or at a UTGSU General Council/Board of Directors meeting.

Deadline: Continuous. Please refer to the application form for details. Fall installment cheques will be made available for pick-up at the General Council/Board-of-Directors meeting following submission of your application form, starting in October. Course unions that submit their form by October 10, 2018 will have their first cheque available for pick- up at the October 23, 2018 General Council meeting. For pick- up at the November 20, 2018 General Council meeting, forms must be submitted by November 13, 2018. For pick up at the December 3, 20184 General Council meeting, forms must be submitted by November 27, 2018.

Fall installment cheques will be made available for pick-up at the January 22, 2019 General Council
meeting for course unions that submit their application form between November 28, 2018 and January
15, 2019.

Please note that grant amounts will be reduced if forms are submitted after December 14, 2018 (see
page 2 of form) or if your course union fails to have at least one (1) representative at four (4) of the first six (6) General Council meetings for the 2018-2019 Year. All winter installment cheques will be made available for pick-up at the March 26, 2019 General Council meeting.
