Benefit Coverage Period
For students who start in September, their coverage begins September 1st and for students that start in January, it begins January 1st. Coverage for either a fall or winter start date terminates August 31st. For students that graduate during the fall semester or leave their program, your coverage is terminated on December 31st because you are not charged winter fees. For students finishing their programs in April, you have paid winter fees, and therefore your coverage expires August 31st.
You may enroll your spouse (including a common law or same sex partner) and/or children on your plans at the beginning of your first eligible term. Visit www.studentcare.ca for current rates and applications forms. You must apply in the first term in which you are registered (proof required).
CUPE3902 Top-up Plans
In order to be eligible for the CUPE 3902 Top Up Plan you MUST be a member of CUPE 3902 Unit 1 who has been employed for 50 hours of work during the plan year (September 1st to August 31st).
