Join us on September 6 from 4-8pm at Gradfest, our Fall Orientation, to kick off the 2017-2018 academic year! If you’re an incoming or returning University of Toronto graduate student, stop by for a free BBQ dinner, to learn more about graduate student specific services on campus, pick up some free swag and play some games with your graduate students’ union.

Schedule for the evening:

4-8PM – Information Fair
Learn about the UTGSU services, such as the health plan, free intramural sports league, academic advocacy avenues, international student identity card and funding opportunities available to graduate students. You can also meet and get involved with our identity based groups that tackle important issues on campus and U of T graduate student organizations.

5-7PM – Free BBQ
Grab a free catered BBQ dinner (food will be served on a first come, first serve basis), free swag, listen to Fusion Radio spin and play some games.

⇨ Is this event accessible? ⇦
The BBQ and information fair in the Koffler House (which has accessible washrooms on the first floor) are physically accessible. The information fair in the UTGSU Gym has limited physical accessibility. Also, the closest accessible subway station is Spadina.

⇨ How do I reserve my food ticket? ⇦
Food will be served on a first come, first serve basis from 5-7pm. You will need to show your student-ID (T-card) or ROSI/ACORN account to prove you are a U of T graduate student to get a food ticket from one of our volunteers at the sign-in table.

⇨ What kind of food will you be serving? ⇦
You will be able to choose between a beef hot dog or a beef, halal, or vegetarian patty with a gluten or gluten free bun. You will also get a choice of water or soft drink and a chocolate/ vanilla ice cream cone or fruit flavoured popsicle. In addition, from 4-8pm you can visit the Nespresso coffee bar and have a free coffee, cappuccino or expresso.

⇨ Where can I find the information fair? ⇦
Our information fair will be held out of two locations this year. The first one is the UTGSU Gym, located on the first floor of 16 Bancroft, and the second one is in the building right beside it in Room 113 of the Koffler House, located at 569 Spadina Crescent.

You will be able to learn more about the UTGSU health plan, free intramural sports league, International Student Identity Card, academic advocacy avenues, funding opportunities and identity and issue based committes you can join. As well as U of T social and academic services.

⇨ Can I bring my partner/kids/friends? ⇦
You are welcome to bring your partner/kids/friends. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide them with food ticket(s).
